Our Story

Mullaney's Harp and Fiddle was opened on February 5th, 1992. It was founded by three young entrepreneurs Anne Mullaney, Brian Mullaney and Sean Patrick Murphy. They believed Pittsburgh deserved an authentic Irish pub with great food, drinks, music and craic. They wanted their pub to be a place to meet with friends, colleagues and clients to enjoy a pint and listen to great music. The pub was Anne's pride and joy, and she enjoyed every night of fun there until she passed away in 2011. She is missed every day, especially by her husband, Mo.

Since 1992, the founders have been blessed with a team unlike any other. David has been with the pub since opening day, having served most of that time as General Manager. Declan, pride of Cork, has been pouring pints since opening day as well. Ann has been keeping us all honest for nearly 30 years. This is the team you think of when you think of the pub. We owe our continued success to them and their staff.

The pub is a place where people relax and enjoy. It has hosted live music 3-5 nights a week, including Tuesday Ceili nights, for 25+ years. It has hosted major lifetime events including weddings, baptisms, wakes, birthdays, business celebrations and reunions. It has hosted fundraisers for local non-profits and Strip District business associations. It has served as a safe and comfortable environment for women and men to meet and socialize.
